Smoky and showing a really good bouquet, the 2016 Chateau Ste. Michelle ‘Grand Estates’ Syrah opens with creosote with bacon and dark fruits connected on the nose. Once in the mouth, this shows good viscosity considering the price point. Black cherry cordial and smoked brisket flavors come to mind. This is drinking nicely now without a decant.
