Already quite evolved at the fourteen year mark, the 2005 Col Solare Red Wine exudes class from this excellent vintage in Washington. On the nose this takes on some heady aromatics from Hoisin sauce to ripe dark berry and crème de cassis aromatics that burst from the glass. The silky texture really entices and connects with the brilliant combination of richness and acidity. Milk chocolate covered cherries, cigar ash and coffee ground flavors all collide on the palate. While this is extremely captivating now, it also still has a few good years left for those who want to hold off a bit more.
