Another delicious Sangiovese-dominated blend (58% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Syrah) that is aged for 18 months in 55% new French oak barrels. The first thing you will notice is how pretty this wine is in the glass, showing deep purple with a bluish-ruby rim. Now move to the intoxicating nose of black cherry candy, boysenberry, sandalwood and wet tilled earth. The palate is fruit-forward on the front and moves to earthy and herbaceous on the back palate, along with medium plus acidity, a full and round mouthfeel and chalky tannins. This is a young wine that needs another 1-2 years in bottle, or a very heavy decant if you want to enjoy now. 2260 cases produced.
