98% Merlot with the rest being Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is aged for 20 months in a combination of 50% new French oak and 50% neutral that includes grapes from the Quintessence, Weinbau and Obelisco vineyards. Boysenberry, red plum, dark cocoa and white pepper dominate the nose while the palate is much the same with some buttery characteristics and sweet baking spices. High acidity and chalk tannins are present, while the wine finishes strong with a spicy aftertaste. 587 cases produced.
