A Merlot-dominant blend of 51% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 28% Petit Verdot that rests in 59% new French oak. It’s a stunning effort from the winemaking team at Betz with notes of wild forest huckleberry, blue plum, red cherry, toasted herbs, purple wildflowers, mocha powder, and a hint of pencil shavings. It’s medium to full-bodied, has lengthy acidity, and delivers crunchy tannins and a wonderful finish. As with all Betz wines, give this a year or two in bottle before popping for the optimal experience.
