COL SOLARE Red Wine, Columbia Valley 2000

The Columbia Valley growing season in 2000 was marked by the cold snap in September which followed a relatively warm and stable summer. This wine comes from winemaker Marcus Notoro and is a blend of 86% Cabernet with 10% Merlot and 4% Syrah. With more than an hour in the decanter, the flavors and aromatics drastically improve. It is elegant and balanced at this time, despite being 15 years old, displaying a lovely range of secondary flavors and aromas. There are largely flavors of black cherry, anise, spicebox, pipe tobacco and cassis. The acid structure remains nicely intact, as this will easily last a few more years. Wonderful aged Washington product. (Best 2015-2017) - December, 2015 (OB)
