MATTHEWS WINERY Claret 2013

Matthews has gained a strong reputation for their Claret over the years. They did an excellent job in 2013 just as they did in 2012. The wine is a complex blend of 57% Cabernet, 26% Cab Franc, 11% Merlot, 3% Malbec, & 3% Petit Verdot. This impressive red wine begins with aromas of graphite, black cherry, black olive and blackberry pie. This leads to flavors of blackberry pie, black olive, black cherry and mocha. Lovely depth and richness as you can really taste the Cabernet as the showman in this blend. Kudos to Aryn Morrell for producing this cellar worthy red blend. (Best 2016-2026) - April, 2016 (OB)
