The 2014 Lauren Ashton Roussanne follows up the excellent '13 bottling. This wine starts with aromatics reminiscent of cut grass, beeswax, cantaloupe and lemon blossoms. There are flavors of cantaloupe, Pazzaz apple, kumquat and hints of orange marmalade. There is lovely weight and texture to this impressive Rousanne that shows good minerality considering the heat of the vintage. I recommend a decant on this wine, which really brings the fruit flavors out to their fullest. Head winemaker, Kit Singh, has an impressive handle on this Rhone varietal.
