QUILCEDA CREEK Red Wine, Columbia Valley 'CVR' 2013

The 2013 Quilceda Creek 'CVR' is a fantastic new release that follows up their last two exceptional bottlings. This excellent value wine is blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon 14% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec that was sourced from the Champoux, Galitzine, Palengat, Tapteil, and Wallula Gap Vineyards. Aged 22 months in French oak, this wine opens with layered aromas of anise crème de cassis, coffee grounds and tar. On the palate this continues to deliver rich, concentrated flavors of crème de cassis, red cherries, lavender, black olive, and blackberry compote. The 2013 CVR is a beautifully structured and polished wine that will cellar beautifully into the next decade. (Best 2016-2026) - June, 2016 (OB)
