An absolutely novel wine by talented head winemaker Morgan Lee, 2014 Two Vintners Zinfandel is one that is not for the weary. This Zinfandel was sourced from the Stonetree Vineyard and has 15% Petite Sirah blended in. Amazingly this wine clocks in at 16.9% alcohol which is somewhat surprising considering the balance obtained by Morgan Lee. The wine opens with aromas of black cherry, black olive, sassafras and hints of coffee grounds. leading to deep flavors of blueberry compote, blackberry cobbler, and black cherry, while displaying nice poise considering the alcohol content. This is a massive wine that is one of the best Washington State Zinfandel efforts that I have tasted in the past year.(Best 2016-2022) - September, 2016 (OB)
