As soon as you pull the cork on this you get hit with a blast of currant and roasted plum, then come the savory components like spices, pepper and herbs, you even get some smoky pipe tobacco. This is a blend of zinfandel, syrah and merlot, and you can really identify each varietal as they all come together to do their part in making up this wine. You get the spiciness from the zinfandel, the power from the syrah and the soft velvety finish from the merlot. Very impressive, not to mention delicious. - November, 2012 (JD)
