Another beautiful Pinot Noir from Morgan, the Tondré Grapefield rests in 45% new French oak for 10 months. Starting off a touch reductive on the nose upon opening, it quickly opens up to present complex and interesting aromas of blueberry, marionberry, potpourri, peppered charcuterie and roasted coffee. It’s a bit funky on the nose, but in a good way. The palate is not as complex as the nose, giving flavors of blue plum, black raspberry, toasted baking spice and a hint of brown mushroom. Medium acidity, medium tannin and medium-plus body complete this interesting and outstanding wine. 113 cases produced.
