SAVIAH CELLARS Cabernet Sauvignon, Walla Walla Valley, ‘The Funk Estate Vineyard’ 2020

Hailing from the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater, the 2020 Saviah Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon The Funk Estate Vineyard is a flat-out fantastic wine. Brought up in 60% new French oak for 18 months, it is deep purple in color and shows an aroma of black raspberry on the nose. The mouthcoating entry explodes with flavor, all within a soft tannic wrapper. Blackberry, black raspberry, star anise, eucalyptus, licorice and arabica coffee all mix wonderfully together and overwhelm (in a good way) your senses. With time in the glass, plum and prune show mid-palate through its one-minute finish. This one has depth, character, boldness, and finesse, and should sail effortlessly for 20+ years.
