CÔTE BONNEVILLE 'DuBrul Vineyard' 2009

This gorgeous bottling was aged 23 months in 100% new French oak cooperage. In 1992, the Shiels planted 45 acres to six varietals under diverse soils. The DuBrul vineyard is known as one of the premier vineyards in the state. Superstar winemaker Kerry Shiels has crafted another wonderful Cote Bonneville. This wine begins with aromas of sandalwood, smoke, black tea, black cherry with red bell pepper. It has a nice herbal edge to it. This leads to flavors of blackberry, baking spices, pipe tobacco, anise and red cherry. Young at this juncture but lovely and has the typical impressive structure found in Kerry's bottlings. Give this at least one more year for more fruit to integrate. (Best 2017-2034) - February, 2016 (OB)
