The 2011 Sonoma Coast appellation Chardonnay from Ramey comes from 56% Martinelli Charles Ranch, 21% Ritchie Vineyard, 12% Platt Vineyard, and 11% Hyde Robert Young. This is the fourth vintage to be dominated by the Martinelli Charles Ranch on Bohan Dillon Road. A bit more Burgundian in style than the Russian River bottling, this Sonoma Coast Chardonnay brings wonderfully pure, mineral driven aromas of crushed stones and flint followed by lemon zest with a hint of vanilla blossoms. The palate is remarkably fresh and clean with a lovely touch of acidity. This is already very impressive and drinking fantastic right out of the gate, just a gorgeous Chardonnay.
