The 2013 Freestone Vineyard Pinot Noir is a lovely showing from Joseph Phelps. It opens up with bright aromas of black raspberries and cherries woven together with spices, white pepper, forest floor and a hint of molasses which all come together beautifully. On this palate this is silky and balanced, with a gorgeous mouthfeel leading to the juice, spice-tinged finish. Overall, this is a simply delicious Pinot Noir that should drink well right out of the gate. (Best 2015-2022) - October, 2015 (JD)
