ERIC DEMUTH Cabernet Sauvignon, Clajeux Vineyard 2011

This Cabernet Sauvignon from Eric Demuth is the brightest and most approachable of all his 2011’s. This was sourced from the Clajeux Vineyard, which is located between the western edge of the Mayacamus Mountain Range and the Russian River Valley. The well-drained volcanic soils coupled with the cooling afternoon breezes make this rocky hillside home to some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the country. As this Cabernet begins to open, pretty aromas burst from the glass, showing notes of ripe cherry, raspberry, blueberry and plum followed by roasted coffee, and spring flowers. It shows wonderful focus and concentration with lovely purity and lively acidity that carries through the palate onto the long finish. Approachable now, but will benefit from short-term cellaring. Drink it until 2030 (Best 2018-2028) - January, 2015 (MD)
