This gorgeous Pinot Noir from Calera comes from the de Villiers vineyard in Mt. Harlan. The nose is deep, pure and youthful, delivering a wonderful mix of black cherries, strawberries and cocoa followed by undertones of soil, woodsmoke and a touch of toasty new wood. On the palate this shows excellent depth with a complex profile of ripe fruit, superb soil inflection and a long, expansive finish. Today, this is already quite appealing and should only continue to evolve over the next decade. (Best 2016-2026) - March, 2015 (MD)
