Old-vine Chardonnay planted in the early 1990s produces the fruit for the 2019 Clos du Soleil. The vineyard is east-facing and one of the first to see the sun every morning. Rich and oily on the nose, it’s wonderfully expressive - think notes of lemon curd, ripe pear, dried thyme, tangerine oil, coconut, and just a touch of butterscotch. Mouthwatering acidity, a medium to full body, and a long finish complete the wine. Only 290 cases were made.
