50% new French oak barrels were used during aging on the 2021 Own-Rooted Pinot Noir from Nicolas Jay. The favorite of the line-up, it excites in every way possible, from the wonderful balance between fruit, earth, tannins, and acidity that flows over the tongue in unison to the lovely earth and spice notes of pine forest and grated clove. There is a wonderful anise and dried herb component that hits the back palate and stays for minutes. Sweet tannins and lemony acidity complete the wine. 305 cases made.
