The 2014 Phelps Creek Pinot Noir is sourced from Pommard, and Dijon clones 115 and 777. It instantly opens to pretty aromas of rose petals, crushed gravel, red cherries, watermelon and Christmas spices. On the palate the flavors ofred fruits, orange zest and suggestions of baking spices are backed by a mineral driven core. Rich with excellent tension, this is nearly impossibly to put down right now but the structure suggests at least another decade of cellaring. If enjoying young, be sure to give this beautiful wine some air contact. This is just a fabulous showing hfrom this estate. (Best 2017-2028) - February, 2017 (OB)
