The 2016 Red Mountain Cabenet opens to intense aromas of black fruits with sagebrush and blueberry being secondary. The palate has moderate tannins with wonderful fresheness and lithe acidity which is a lovely complement to creme de cassis, mocha and blackberry pie flavors. The minerality and richness is wonderful and novel considering the obvious heat of the site and the vintage. While this is simply sumptuous wine right now, the Cabernet Sauvignon will continue to evolve for well over a decade.
