This Merlot has just 1% Cabernet Sauvignon and sees 16 months in 67% new French oak. It’s dark and inky in the glass with a bright neon rim and legs that run for minutes, which you would typically think would contain massive amounts of alcohol, but this one falls in the 14% range. A dark, scrumptious, and beckoning Merlot, this one calls to you with notes of bramble, cassis, black raspberry, blue plum, toasted cinnamon, dried spearmint, milk chocolate, and tar. It’s impeccably made and very well balanced with no rough edges. Enjoy this one over the next 12 years or so.
