Shimmering blue-ruby core with a light purple rim in the glass, the 2020 Hedges Descendants Liegeois Dupont is made from 100% Syrah on Red Mountain and sports aromas and flavors of dried Blood orange zest, zesty Asian spice, spicy peppercorn, crushed black olives, roasted brisket, wild forest blueberry, and cocoa nibs. Beautifully balanced, it’s a stunning example of the Syrah’s that are coming out of Red Mountain. It’s aged for 21 months in primarily American oak barrels, which gives it some of the unique and lovely dried dill characteristics you get on the nose and on the palate. About 1100 cases made.
