FORCE MAJEURE Cabernet Franc, Red Mountain ‘Estate’ 2021

I’ve always loved the Cabernet Francs coming out of Red Mountain, this one the 2021 Estate from Force Majeure that displays a brooding deep purple core with a neon purple rim in the glass. Brought up in about 65% new French oak and tasting like a wonderfully made Loire Valley sample, it offers gobs of blackcurrants, sweet boysenberries, dark chocolate, graphite, tilled earth with shades of tobacco leaf and green peppercorns. Savory and complex, it’s another fantastic bottle of wine from Force Majeure that will cellar well for the next 15 years. Highly recommended.
