This Pinot Noir comes from Block 5 in the Dierberg Vineyard. The block is separated from the rest of the vineyard by a small creek, and the soils tend to be a bit more red in color, with more clay. The wine itself offers very seductive aromas of fresh wild berries and red fruits followed by dried spices and violets which are underlined by a touch of iron. Impressive for its elegance and focus, this also displays a gorgeous seamless texture and vibrant core of acidity that runs into the long, zesty finish. This will be accessible upon release and should continue to evolve for years to come. (Best 2018-2029) - August, 2017 (MD)
