This blend of cabernet franc and merlot is more typical of the 2011 vintage than some of bevan's other super star stand out 2011s. This wine has less forward fruit and slightly more green and herbal flavors (which is not typical of bevan). There are notes of blackberries on the palate and It's well made wine but just not drinking great right now and perhaps it just needs a bit more time in the bottle to come together. There is a very distinct chocolate/mocha dust note on the end but the fruit here is way more reserved and backward than his other wines. (Best 2017-2027) - January, 2014 (VM)
