This wine was harvested at the end of September 2012 and into October. The Pinot Noir is a blend of fruit coming from a hill site on the estate vineyard, with vines planted on silt loam. The Pinot was aged 10 months in French oak (50% new) prior to bottling. Lovely orange hue to this translucent Pinot. The wine begins with aromas of cardemom, raspberry, black cherry and baking spices. There are flavors of raspberry, anise, orange rind, allspice, and cherry pie. The 30 second long finish lingers on the tongue. This has nice weight with lovely minerality. Mark Beringer has crafted a simply delicious wine from an outstanding vintage that is hard to put down right now. (Best 2015-2025) - November, 2015 (OB)
