The 2013 ’Trilogy’ is composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petite Verdot, 6% Malbec. It opens with a complex array of aromas including black cherries and currants, layered together with mocha, sweet spices, along with some smoke, molasses and shaved coconut. Full-bodied wine with notable depth and concentration backed by a touch of underlying acidity giving it lift. It finished long with dark fruits and sweet spices lingering. Today there is still a presence of oak, but I expect that to fade as this continues to to evolve over the next decade. (Best 2017-2027) - January, 2016 (JD)
