Decadent and intoxicating come to mind when sampling the incredible 2012 Revana 'Estate' Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from their small estate vineyard in Saint Helena, this Clone 7 and Clone 337 Cabernet was aged for 20 months in French oak prior to an additional 12 months in bottle before release. The wine opens with bright aromatics of black cherry, graphite, anise and blackberry cobbler. ON the palate this is dense and concentrated with profound flavors of black cherry, crème de cassis, anise and black olive. The wine's moderate tannins and balance beautifully accompany the rich profile. Overall, this is an outstanding effort that should cellar well for many years to come.
