The 2014 ‘1873’ Cabernet Sauvignon is an incredible effort from the winemaking team at Hall. Sourced from the northern edge of the Vacca Mountains towards Atlas Peak, this wine begins with aromatics of sweet tobacco, crème de cassis, mocha, crushed mint and suggestions of baking spices. The palate is plush, layered and simply gorgeous, as it showcases concentrated flavors of crème de cassis, anise, coffee grounds and blueberry pie that are deep and penetrating. This majestic, powerful wine, will thrive in the cellar for many years to come, however if approaching early be sure to give this beauty plenty of air contact. (Best 2017-2030) - August, 2017 (OB)
