The 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet from Chappellet is a lovely showing made from 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot and 3% Malbec. It opens to inviting aromas of freshly crushed blackberries and dark cherries laced with spices, mocha, anise all taking shape. On the palate this is full and voluptuous, with remarkable depth and concentration. Layers of ripe dark fruits come together with spices and violet s as they build up to the long, opulent finish. Even at this early age the Signature Cabernet is extremely impressive, nonetheless should also cellar beautifully for many years. This wine consistently delivers year after year and given its quality, it remains one of Napa Valley's finest values.
