The 1997 Cardinale is a total beauty and drinking incredibly well after two decades. Composed of a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon with the remainder Merlot, this begins with aromas of black cherries, Turkish coffee and tar which all soar from the glass. The texture is highly compelling, as the wine yields black cherries, black olive and Turkish coffee flavors. Rich and decadent, this sensational wine may be at its peak today, however should continue to cellar well for a decade or possibly more for those willing to wait.
