The 2021 Syrah from Dossier is aged sur lie for 17 months in French oak - split between 50% new and 50% neutral. It showcases a medium to dark ruby and purple core with a shimmering silvery rim. As with most of the Syrah’s coming out of The Rocks, this one contains those telltale signs of boysenberry, wild blueberry, bacon fat, black-peppered charcuterie, baking chocolate, crushed olive, and hints of cedary herbs. Acidity checks in at the medium range, the tannins are well integrated and smooth, the medium-bodied mouthfeel is rich and luscious, and it finishes with a wet earth and crushed rock minerality. Only 189 cases were made.
