A glistening lemon-gold core with a watery rim is beautiful in the glass. The 2021 Casteel Estate Chardonnay is barrel aged for 12 months in 50% new French oak, giving it some lovely sweet baking spice notes. Aromas of white peach, honey-coated green pear, dried thyme, toasted hazelnuts, and lemony herbs create a rich and lush mouthfeel with a slightly oily finish. Just 283 cases made.
