The 2018 Estate Brittan Vineyards Syrah showcases a dark purple core with a neon blue rim in the glass and spent 15 months in about 20% new French oak. Blackberry and blue plum focused on the nose, it also gifts secondary notes of wildflowers, cedar forest, blue raspberry, crushed black pepper, and light vanilla. Tannins are sweet and integrated alongside ample levels of acidity. A pleasant surprise, as Syrah isn’t typically seen in the Willamette Valley. Only 110 cases were made.
