REININGER Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

The wine saw 93% French oak (44% new) before being bottled in March 2014. These grapes (96% Cabernet with the rest Petit Verdot) were sourced from the Pepper Bridge and Seven Hills vineyards. Similar to the Syrah bottling, this is done in the open style. This Cabernet has aromas of red bell pepper, sage, and red currant, having a wonderful herbaceous bouquet. There are flavors of red cherry, red raspberry, blackberry and allspice, alongside some mild to moderate tannins. The structure and fruit flavors align here. (Best 2016-2024) - February, 2016 (OB)
