Winemaker Jared Burns sourced his 60% Grenache from the Alder Ridge vineyard, while the 40% Syrah came from the Weinbau vineyard. The blend was aged 20 months in neutral French oak before bottling. This wine starts with aromas of wet rock, smoked meats, and blackberry. On the palate there are rich flavors of blackberry jam, black cherry, and suggestions of black olive. Solid effort that shows off this classy vintage. (Best 2016-2024) - February, 2016 (OB)
