GRAMERCY CELLARS Syrah 'Lagniappe' 2013

The 2013 'Lagniappe' Syrah is sourced from the Red Willow (80%) and Forgotten Hills (20%). This is an impressive bottling by Brandon Moss and Greg Harrington at Gramercy. Aromatically intense, there is blackberry cobbler, black cherry, black olive and sagebrush. This leads to flavors of creosote, black forest cake, black raspberry, blueberry compote and a graphite edge. The round, plush texture and minerality combined with the decadent layers of ripe fruit makes this a joy to savor. The wine improves after two hours in the decanter. This shows some really nice cellaring potential and should be a pleasure to drink for years to come. (Best 2016-2026) - April, 2016 (OB)
