WOODWARD CANYON Cabernet Sauvignon 'Old Vines' 2013

The 2013 Woodward Canyon 'Old Vines' Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from grapes planted in the the early 1970’s. The blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Petit Verdot and 3% Syrah comes from the Sagemoor Vineyard (50%) and Champoux Vineyard (37%), located on two very distinct benches above the Columbia River. The Petit Verdot and Syrah were harvested from Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard (13%). This deep colored wine opens with a bouquet of mint, black tea, mocha and black cherry pie. Lithe and rich there are wonderfully concentrated flavors of blackberry pie, mocha, graphite and coffee grounds. Dense and layered, this majestic wine is built for the long haul. (Best 2017-2033) - July, 2017 (OB)
