This Syrah opens with a rich bouquet of bacon fat, cigar smoke, Umami and suggestions of blood orange rind. The downright intoxicating nose brings you back for more. The texture is marvelous as this wine glides through the mid-palate, delivering black olive tapenade, black cherry liquor, blood orange, spiced red currant and forest floor accents. The flavor range is invigorating, as is the lively structure. I can see this beautiful wine cellaring for more than a decade. This is just excellent effort by the talented hands of Sean Boyd.
