The 2014 Leonetti ‘Reserve’ Red Wine was sourced from the Seven Hills, Loess, Mill Creek Upland and Serra Pedace vineyards, and includes the highest percentage of Malbec (13%) ever used for this wine. Vast and immense at this juncture, this wine begins with a profound bouquet of black cherries, roasted figs, mocha and crème de cassis. The palate is plush and layered, with flavors of crème de cassis, smoke, mocha, violets, dark chocolate shavings and cigar box all coming together to add wonderful complexity. This intense, age worthy red will need some additional bottle age to settle, nonetheless is an highly impressive and memorable wine from Leonetti Cellar. (Best 2018-2040) - August, 2017 (OB)
