The 2014 'QED Convergence' is an outstanding blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre with 4% Viognier co-fermented. This underwent 50% whole cluster fermentation prior to bottling. The wine begins with ripe aromas of bacon fat, black olive tapenade, smoked meat and creosote with a touch of dark chocolate shavings. The palate shows nice balance and tension, with wonderful range of flavors including blackberry pie, smoke, mocha and crushed mint. Delivering a powerful punch now, this outstanding red blend will cellar well for the next decade or more.
