PONZI Pinot Noir, Chehalem Mountains ‘Reserve’ 2019

The 2019 Reserve Pinot Noir from Ponzi was fermented with 40% whole cluster and then rested for 20 months in 40% new French oak barrels, which gave it some needed structure and spiciness to the wine. The nose is fresh and vibrant, bringing aromas of black cherry, boysenberry, lime zest, and pink peppercorn. The palate gifts a bit more aged aspects like forest floor, mushroom, and mountain huckleberries. Impeccably balanced between the smooth tannins and scrumptious acidity, the earthy finish goes on for minutes.
