My favorite of the Trothe Cabernet Sauvignon vintages, the 2020 is a bit lighter and fresher on the nose than its siblings. A glowing dark purple core with a lighter raspberry-colored rim in the glass. It wafts up with a scrumptious mix of crushed black raspberry, dark plum skin, dried thyme, Christmas spices, and shades of fresh oregano and lemon pepper. It’s deeply textural with grippy dusty tannins, elevated levels of acidity, and a popping finish. Better in 2024. Highly recommended.
