A combination of 97% Syrah with the rest being Viognier, the 2021 Syrah from Trothe gifts a dark purple core with a shimmering neon purple rim. Glorious notes of fresh and dried purple rose petals, crushed boysenberries, black plum skin, black-peppered charcuteries, and green olive brine spill from the glass. Meaty and peppery on the palate with medium levels of acidity and a wet earth and black fruit finish, the tannins are integrated nicely into this plush, complex, and downright delicious bottle of Syrah. Just 51 cases made. Highly recommended.
