SUNU Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Lonesome Rock Vineyard 2018

Unlike the other Pinot Noir released in 2018 from SONU, this Lonesome Rock wine is fully destemed. The oak treatment is similar however, being aged 16 months in 30% new French oak. The nose radiates with cherry pie filling, cinnamon, baking chocolate and freshly tilled earth. On the palate you are greeted with notes of black cherry, blueberry, hazelnuts and a butterscotch finish. High tannins and high acidity frame the backbone of this incredible wine. You should give this at least 2 years in bottle before breaking it open but if you can’t wait, give it a 2-3 hour hard decant. Highly recommended. Only 75 cases made.
