DOMAINE SERENE Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley 'Evenstad Reserve' 2011

The 2011 Evenstad Reserve was aged in French oak for 13 months prior to bottling in April 2013. This has a smoky nose with cinnamon and red currant aromas. Lithe and mineral drive, there are flavors of red cherry and raspberry with vanilla and light tannins. This has pretty good weight considering the coolness of the vintage. The wine opens up after roughly two hours of decanting. This is a wine that will benefit from some time in the bottle. (Best 2017-2027) - September, 2015 (OB)
