The 2012 Domaine Serene 'Gold Eagle Vineyard' Pinot Noir is sourced from one of the smallest vineyards, located adjacent to the Grace vineyard. This Pinot Noir was aged 15 months in 62% new French oak prior to bottling. The wine begins with dense aromas reminiscent of mushroom, forest floor, red raspberry and Bing cherry. There are medium to heavy weight flavors of cherry pie, raspberry, lavender, and cedar with lovely minerality and richness. A beautiful effort here, as the silky texture glides through a long and lingering finish. (Best 2016-2028) - February, 2016 (OB)
