WILLAKENZIE ESTATE Pinot Noir 'Pierre Leon' 2013

The 2013 Willakenzie Estate 'Pierre Leon' is a gorgeous showing. This wine has more of a Burgundian nose with crushed wild flowers, shitake mushroom, forest floor alongside red raspberry and allspice. there are flavors of red cherry, red raspberry, sage, pomegranate and orange rind alongside light tannins. Drinking better after an hour decant. Impressive structure and fruit. This reminds me of their very strong '11 bottling that flourished despite the coldness of the vintage. (Best 2016-2027) - March, 2016 (OB)
